Wrong uses of nomenclatural type of (Q116044186) edit

nomenclatural type of (Q116044186) is a Wikidata internal item to provide label names for the relatedItems gadget. It does not have the same meaning as nomenclatural type (Q116538381). It seems like you added a few dozen examples of it being used wrongly, can you switch them to a more correct item? ChristianKl11:00, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I used it appropriately as the "inverse property label for P427"... where the parent taxon has P427, the child has Q116044186. Can you point out a place where I've used it incorrectly? - UtherSRG (talk) 11:05, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
There's a difference between an apple and the label "apple". You can eat an actual apple but you can't eat the label "apple". We have inverse property label for the relatedItems gadget to show the right labels by linking the items about the labels with inverse label item (P7087).
Wikidata has by design no inverse property for taxonomic type (P427). Users can look at that data by using the relatedItems gadget. ChristianKl11:24, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
That doesn't answer my question, nor is it helpful. Wikipedia's en:template:taxonbar uses Wikidata fields programatically. It is currently looking at parent/child relationships for monotypic taxons, with P427 on the parent and Q116044186 on the child to validate the monotypic relationship. If this is incorrect, then all of the places I (and others) have Q116044186 are incorrect, and we will have to change the taxonbar. @Jts1882: Please jump in here... - UtherSRG (talk) 11:34, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
@ChristianKl: Didn't mean to leave you hanging, but we are discussing on en-wiki how to come up with a better solution for our taxonbar. If you want to peek in or help out, it's at en:Template talk:Taxonbar#"nomenclatural type of" usage being frowned upon. - UtherSRG (talk) 11:01, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
