Hi! First of all thank you for the very interesting job you are doing around Journal of Indian Philosophy (Q6295325)! It's an area still not so much covered here on Wikidata, as far as I can see, so the items you are creating are really needed.

Through the following query

SELECT DISTINCT ?person ?personLabel
WHERE {
  ?article wdt:P31 wd:Q13442814 .
  ?article wdt:P1433 wd:Q6295325 .
  { ?article wdt:P50 ?person . } UNION { ?article wdt:P921 ?person . }
  ?person wdt:P31 wd:Q5 .
  ?person wikibase:identifiers 0 .
  SERVICE wikibase:label { bd:serviceParam wikibase:language "[AUTO_LANGUAGE],en". }
}
ORDER BY ?personLabel
Try it!

I have found that some person-items you created haven't yet external identifiers. Since external identifiers are crucial in order to find existing duplicates and to prevent the creation of duplicates in the future, I think it is better, when creating new items, trying to add at least essential library catalogs identifiers in order to make the item more visible and less at risk of duplication. I've tried to enrich in this way some items, e.g. Manorathanandin (Q105664722), Jinendrabuddhi (Q105431142), Saṅghadāsa (Q105757409), Prajñākaragupta (Q105718615), Harabhatta Shastri (Q105758435). I personally suggest to look for VIAF ID (P214) (there can be more than one value) for the remaining items and to extract from VIAF the identifiers of single national libraries.

You can find in User:Epìdosis/Lessons about Wikidata some possibly useful suggestions. I particularly recommend User:Bargioni/moreIdentifiers, which makes the extraction of IDs from VIAF ID (P214) very easy, and User:Bargioni/UseAsRef, which fastens dramatically the addition of references based on external identifiers.

I am obviously ready to answer any question or doubt. Bye and thank you in advance, --Epìdosis 13:44, 1 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
