Every sense on a lexeme must have a gloss in Malay—no exceptions.

For most senses, if it is possible to provide a direct correspondence with a Wikidata item, then this should be made with item for this sense (P5137).

synonym (P5973) should be used to link all direct synonyms between senses on Malay lexemes. It is entirely optional to make such linkages to senses in other languages; it is actively discouraged if all such senses in other languages are linked via item for this sense (P5137) to the same item (in which case a item for this sense (P5137) value on a sense to the same item would suffice).

If a dictionary in the public domain(!) has a definition of a lexeme corresponding to a particular sense, then that definition may be added (with an appropriate reference) using gloss quote (P8394). (Note that this dictionary need not itself be in Malay.)

Please do add English translations even for senses that have item for this sense (P5137). Combination of the two will enable accurate triangulation of translations. Translations to other languages are useful only if they can outperform accuracy of automated triangulation.

Translations can be used to semi-automatically inherit information from corresponding senses in other languages: item for this sense (P5137), foreign language glosses, context labels (language style (P6191), field of usage (P9488), etc.), and translations to other languages. Translations, especially English translations, are therefore more valuable than other statements. Doing them first saves time. Addition of symmetric translations can be also mostly automated.
