Motivation

FCD has around 4400 species and 1200 subspecies of plants present in Croatia. When searched for "*" in "Taxon name" they let you download an XSLX.zip file with ID/taxon_name pairs. PAWS has OpenRefine installed that has allowed me to reconcile most of the names against Wikidata. We already use some of the FCD IDs on hrwiki (hr:Dubrovačka zečina), but those have been added by a bot. The site is resourceful (pictures, occurence maps etc.) and would be a valuable addition. I've contacted the author(s), they assured me the ID numbers will never change, though more will be added, and some eventually removed. Ponor (talk) 14:26, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
