Motivation edit

Almost all active figure skaters with certain achievements (especially at the international level) are placed in the ranking of the International Skating Union. There are 4 disciplines in figure skating: singles (men's/women's), pairs, ice dancing and synchronized skating. For each of these disciplines there is a different ranking, updated and edited by the ISU.

This property will display the current position of a skater (or pair/team) in one of these rankings. The property can be used in the templates I have given above.

This property will be updated automatically by a bot. Beonus (talk) 14:51, 24 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion edit

Currently we have a general property ranking (P1352) and not using separate properties for individual sports.--GZWDer (talk) 15:18, 24 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
But I don't see any of the figure skaters being assigned this property to show their position in the ISU rating. This position is updated manually, in the articles on Wikipedia. So far, this property is only used to display the results at competitions (which place the athlete took).
In addition, for example, chess players are assigned the property Elo rating (P1087) that is very similar in purpose to the one I am proposing.--Beonus (talk) 15:23, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@GZWDer:, would you like to give your opinion? Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 07:39, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Elo rating is a rating, not a ranking, it's vastly here. We do not habe a separate property for a chess player position in the world ranking, AFAIK. Konstantina07 (talk) 00:01, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
