| Formatter URL | http://www.kinopolis.de/hu/film/$1.php (where "hu" can be replaced by the id of other theaters of the Kinopolis cinema chain. There are certain theaters which use a completely different prefix like "http://www.mathaeser.de/mm/film/". But most theaters use the given formatter URL with a two character id for the actual theater like "hu" for "Hanau", "kg" for Gießen, "kp" for "Darmstadt", "vi" for "Viernheim" and so on. In total there are 17 theaters the identifiers apply to.) |
- Motivation
Kinopolis is one big cinema chain in Germany. They have a history of over 100 years. Most of the webpages of the Kinopolis cinemas use the same ID system for films. I want to enter the ID of all currently shown movies in Kinopolis theaters to better keep track of new movies and in order to improve de:Portal:Film/Kinostarts 2016 which is a Wikidata generated list article. - I would simply use the biggest theater of this chain for the standard formatter. I just wanted to point out that the same id applies to many theaters and therefore URLs. --Jobu0101 (talk) 16:55, 6 July 2016 (UTC)

Done Formatter URL changed, to make it useable. I noticed that if the theater code is removed, an automatic redirect is created, so that the film information is found. If it turns out not to work, the formatter URL perhaps has to be removed. Lymantria (talk) 14:56, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Lymantria: Thank you for creating the property. I think your solution works only when the correct film page was visited before. It's probably based on cookies. So for the formatter I would take http://www.mathaeser.de/mm/film/ as prefix because the Mathäser Filmpalast is the biggest theater of the Kinopolis chain (see here for a complete list). --Jobu0101 (talk) 17:09, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
