Motivation
editThe Library of Congress Children's Subject Headings list includes headings that vary in application or form from the standard LC subject headings and those especially created for the Children's and Young Adults' Cataloging Program at LC. It provides tailored subject access to children and young adults when LCSH does not provide suitable terminology, form, or scope for children. The headings are available as linked data from id.loc.gov and having this ID property will permit additional linking from Wikidata to LC controlled vocabularies. Discussion
edit- Support seems like a good idea and 997 are manageable. Do they provide a mapping between sj and sh identifiers? It is annoying that they are different numbers. --Hannes Röst (talk) 15:42, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- They do not provie a mapping between LCSH (sh) and LC Children's Headings (sj) identifiers. The terms in LC Children's Headings are usually different from LCSH, as they are aimed at children. For example: Babies (LC Children's) vs. Infants (LCSH). A mapping WOULD be nice, but alas LC doesn't make one. --Adam Schiff (talk) 20:40, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
