- Motivation
The Library of Congress of the United States has created more that 400 file format descriptions to describe formats of digital content. By including this external id in Wikidata we could provide links to this information from their Wikidata items. This information is relevant for strategic planning related to digital content and might be of interest to the digital preservation community.
