Motivation edit

This database is a valuable source of information on popular literature not just in Britain in the mid-nineteenth century, but also in France and in the United States since French romans-feuilletons were translated in penny weekly numbers in London while American fiction was reprinted. The database links publishers to their Oxford Dictionary of National Biography ID (P1415), Dictionary of Nineteenth-Century Journalism (Q86370176) identifier in ProQuest's Nineteenth Century Index, and British Book Trade Index ID (P2945).

There are also external identifiers for authors, works, periodicals, and libraries which hold copies of these rare books. Separate property proposals are being made for these other identifiers since the formatter URL is different. Marianika (talk) 16:00, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
