Comment This is okay with me, but I would refer to compulsory education (Q511009), in stead of dropping out (which sounds to me as unsuccessfully finishing school career). And I would prefer two properties, giving the starting age and ending age of compulsory education per country. Lymantria (talk) 15:37, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
- Comment I agree with Lymantria. This needs to be clear this is about the minimum leaving age not "dropping out" and it needs to be one of a pair of properties. It also isn't always a single number - it used to be the case in England (no idea if it still is) that if your birthday was between early September and mid December you could leave after date X, if your birthday was in the other part of the year you could leave after Y date, these being calculated each year. – The preceding unsigned comment was added by Thryduulf (talk • contribs).
- Oppose as a single property, but I would Support a proposal that includes a starting and an ending age. --Srittau (talk) 23:05, 19 August 2016 (UTC)

- Support per above, thanks for this proposal. The only change I would suggest is to remove "minimum" from the description, because I find that fairly confusing. "age when compulsory education starts/ends" is more succinct. --Sebari (Srittau) (talk) 21:22, 27 September 2016 (UTC)
- When I started school, it was compulsory to start the fall semester the year you celebrated your 7th birthday. You could therefor be both 6 or 7 years old when it was compulsory to start. (They start one year earlier today, but I do not know if it is "compulsory".) And not all could legally "drop out". Some of my schoolmates celebrated their 16th birthday after school ended. Only we who were born in the spring, could "drop out" legally. -- Innocent bystander (talk) 17:29, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
- I'd say you'd use age 7: criterion used: "year school starts".
