Oppose @VictorPorton: See existing properties for grant ID's - for example Alfred P. Sloan Foundation grant ID (P7513) or Dimensions grant ID (P6854). These should be external id's, not items. If you have a specific funding agency for which you want to add their ID's as an external ID, that makes sense, but I don't think this proposal as is is workable.
