start time (P580) does not require a full date. You can insert 2017 or August 2017 or 02 August 2017. Xaris333 (talk) 16:29, 2 August 2017 (UTC)

It would work for individual seasons, but then start time (P580) does indeed look more appropriate. However, some seasons open in summer and others in winter, and this is not an irregular pattern. - itwiki defined that value for some 1000 or 2000 leagues .. From my experience with film festivals, month indications can work out fairly well, even though writing a bot that creates and maintains thousands of items with exact dates for every year shouldn't be too complicated. --- Jura 08:09, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
- Going through the list from itwiki, there are about 1700 that could be uploaded directly. Some others need more checking.

- As always, I open to other solutions if they can represent the same in a better way. I like the alternative included in my comment on 08:09, 10 December 2017, but I don't see myself maintaining it (nor asking anybody else to do it in my place).
