Hello, I was trying to create a new property to make a Template of new social media into the Wiki but I accidentaly created a normal element, then I realized I needed permission to make a property Q108371047. I would live to have this permission, Thanks in regard.--Janitoalevic (talk) 18:32, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Janitoalevic: You need to request a property on WD:Property proposal, even if one has the right, it still needs to go through discussion for the creation of a property. Anyone can start the proposal of new property. Sun8908 💬 12:54, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
- Not done no support, no experience editing properties or participation in proposal discussions. --DannyS712 (talk) 05:20, 11 September 2021 (UTC)

I am very experienced in the realm of properties and hope to continue to engage with property proposals and the community by helping create them. I'd also like to help ease the current backup of proposals that are ready. Lectrician1 (talk) 00:18, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
- Question: your page says you were responsible for translation of (P9745) I understand that to be a controversial property (currently being considered for deletion) . Do you think that was handled properly? Also picking one of the properties you made at random: container (P9813) appears to have virtually no use and the examples confuse me: An EP is contained in a box? A CD album is contained in a book? Even if you mean something in the form of a book I assume you do not mean book (Q571). BrokenSegue (talk) 05:47, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
- I do think that translation of (P9745) was handled properly. Although initially created for a use that was simply meant to "split up" edition or translation of (P629), it was still specifically supported by UWashPrincipalCataloger who gave many examples of it's use in other databases. It was only until it was debated that I realized that translation of (P9745) should not be used to replace edition or translation of (P629), but work like the properties in the other databases, establishing an expression-expression relationship. Tinkerbell created the property quite fast, but there was much support at the time, which was a very valid reason to create it. In the end everything worked out even with the debate, since there hasn't been discussion relating to the deletion for weeks, and that's what's important. Conflicts like these where a property is created at some point and someone doesn't like it are likely to arise. Solving those disputes through proper means by maintaining, changing, or deleting the property is what is important.
- container (P9813) is based on this: https://musicbrainz.org/doc/Release/Packaging . The main reason it was created was because physical KPOP releases can come in a variety of packaging that is a lot different than the standard CD case or vinyl sleeve and I wanted to document it, like MusicBrainz does. I do mean book, as it is a valid type of packaging described in the MB specification above, but I wasn't really sure whether to use the current book item or create a new one. If I created a new one, it would have to be a broader-scoped version of book (Q571) and I really did not want to mess with the trouble of describing that. Therefore, I just used the current book (Q571) since it seemed similar and general-in-definition enough. Lectrician1 (talk) 09:40, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
- sounds like a reasonable response. thanks for providing an in depth answer. SupportBrokenSegue (talk) 00:31, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
