"Art Historian"

edit

No, Brendel was not an Art Historian. She was a Classical Archaeologist. Classical Archaeologists are a mix between Archaeologists and Art Historians. If there is a more exact term - this is "Classical Archaeologist" - the less exact term has to be eleminated. And it is not of importance that some places write it not in a correct way. Brendel never ever worked as an "Art Historian", what means about post ancient Art. Marcus Cyron (talk) 12:15, 31 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Marcus Cyron: 1) who say she was a classical archaeologist? Yourself? This isn't a sufficient reference. 2) Even if there was a source for it, we don't remove referenced statements in Wikidata if they are correctly sourced, even if they are wrong or if there are more precise value available. Instead, we rank them. 3) You have already been asked more than a year ago not to remove data of incorrect statement when they are sourced, why do you still do it? --Jahl de Vautban (talk) 12:47, 31 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
We don't need Data Waste on Wikidata, we already have enough. I will always and in future delete inaccurate data! And Brendel is clearly a classical archaeologist. Nothing else is an "expert on classical art", who also studied Classical Archaeology and nearly completed her Ph.D. in this subject! What you are doing here is truely a big problem. You don't know about these things, but you act like you would know. This is a problem, because this creates data problems! Marcus Cyron (talk) 12:57, 31 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
You can't be speaking of data waste and adding the same labels and alias to more than 70 languages. That's close to 300 statements of redundant data, but you are arguing about a single statement as being a waste? I know more about classics that you may imply, but I'm also wary of statements and their sources and specially of deleting correctly sourced statement. --Jahl de Vautban (talk) 13:07, 31 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
