Same song?
editIt seems that Zdravljica (Q27965845) and Zdravljica (Q169215) are about the same song. According to this link, Janko Lavrin (Q12792181) is the author of the English translation of the anthem. There is also the same link in lt:Slovėnijos himnas and s:lt:Slovėnijos himnas. Korg (talk) 23:27, 5 December 2016 (UTC)
- If you look at the en and lt pages on Wikisource, the lyrics in Slovene are not the same. The texts on those WS are therefore different from the one on the Slovene Wikisource.
- But even if the source texts were the same, these data items could not be merged, because Wikidata maintains separate data items for each edition and for each translation. That is, an English translation of a Slovene song would be listed as a separate data item from the Slovene original; it will have its own publication data different from the original. And a French translation would have a separate data item from either the English or the Slovene. --EncycloPetey (talk) 02:01, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- The lyrics in Slovene on the en page are the same as the ones of the seventh stanza on the sl page on Wikisource. The English translation is also the same as this one. Maybe the en Wikisource page could be amended to say that France Prešeren is the author of the original text, and Janko Lavrin is the author of the English translation (titled "A Toast")?
- Ok for separate data items for each edition and for each translation, thanks. Korg (talk) 11:27, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
