Merging items edit

Hallo Antpriv,

For merging items, you may want to use the merge.js gadget from help page about merging. It has an option "Request deletion for extra items on RfD" to automatically place a request to delete the emptied page. This way of nominating makes it a lot easier for the admins to process the requests.

I don't know much: if there are two or more pages, which of two I should ask for deletion as wrong page and which ones must stay as the right one? I'm not too able using templates or similar... and so I wouldn't like making something wrong!

I believe answers to your and other questions about these issues should all be somewhere on the page I linked:
The help page about merging.
If there are two pages, and one has only one entry and the other more that merge towards the one with more entries. If one of the items has a lot of links to it, it preferable to link to it. If you don't see much difference, it's usually best to merge towards the lower number (the gadget has an option, so it doesn't matter how you nominate, it will always nominate the higher numbered item. If you miss one of the reasons to keep the higher numbered item it's often picked up or fixed by the admins that process the request.
It's not a problem if you do things "wrong", as the intention to help is allways appreciated. If you do things "wrong", or to formulate more accurately: if what you do can be improved, we will inform you about it. So doing things "wrong" will still help Wikidata and yourself. I will be following this talk page for a while, so you can answer here, to keep all information togather on your talk page. If you have specific questions, you can always ask them on my talk page or on most other active users', for instance those of the (other) admins (the people who can delete pages). -      - (Cycn/talk) 07:49, 31 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Global account edit

Hi Antpriv! As a Steward I'm involved in the upcoming unification of all accounts organized by the Wikimedia Foundation (see m:Single User Login finalisation announcement). By looking at your account, I realized that you don't have a global account yet. In order to secure your name, I recommend you to create such account on your own by submitting your password on Special:MergeAccount and unifying your local accounts. If you have any problems with doing that or further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page. Cheers, DerHexer (talk) 11:36, 17 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
