@Pigsonthewing: Thank you so much. I will try to do my best but I know I am not perfect and do some errors. But as we said in France, only those doing nothing never do mistakes :-D Have a lovely day. All the best to you. Givet (talk) 05:14, 4 May 2019 (UTC)

Please merge instead of blankingEdit

Thank you for your work in maintaining Wikidata. I have a small suggestion to improve your future work. If you notice that two items are duplicates, please merge them instead of blanking one of them as you did with the page Q96677657. External sites use Wikidata identifiers, so it is important that we preserve the chain of references. We do this by making one item a redirect for the other. In particular, item ids are intended to be a permanent identifier, so we never reuse them for another concept. See Help:Merge for more information on how to merge items, and consider installing the Merge Gadget. Thanks! Bovlb (talk) 21:03, 27 June 2020 (UTC)

@Bovlb: Thank you so much  . In fact I blanked this page because I created it a few minutes before. The name I used was Steve E. Carpenter but I discovered that this person uses also the name Steven E. Carpenter... with an existing page. Sorry for that. Your solution is perfect and many times I seen some duplicate pages, so I will use your method in the future. This is great. One more time thanks a lot. Have a nice day.   Givet (talk) 06:25, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
