Please explain why you are removing valid aliases and changing descriptions to less accurate ones? This is not the first time by the way... Regards Kirilloparma (talk) 05:04, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi, the first one is a made up acronym for the game. The developers push for GBVS and now GBVSR with Rising. While typos like removal of colons are allowed in the "Also Known As" fields, I don't think it's good to propagate acronyms or names that aren't used by the players or developers.
For the second one, I tend to focus more on the genre of the game rather than the dev/pub since often you have outside studios like QLOC porting games like MK1. So while NRS is currently responsible for development, I'd say being a fighting game is a more defining characteristic of MK1 than who developed/published/ported it on release. Moving forward however, I can leave something like "2023 fighting game developed by NetherRealm Studios" if that is a better alternative to you. Jotamide (talk) 11:47, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Now your reason is clear, but this directly goes against the Help:Alias recommendations, according to which acronyms not only can, but should appear in aliases. There is nothing wrong with their very presence. It's also important to note that the bar for aliases is pretty low, so we shouldn't be so strict about them, especially since they serve to make it easier to find items.
Regarding developers in the descriptions. The point is that such standard descriptions may not always be helpful. Here is a specific case for Crucible (Q93360353) and Crucible (Q111661849). Two games with the same title and both released in the same year, yes the genre may be different, but if I didn't add the developer in the description for the first item, I might mistakenly think it's about the same game and end up mistakenly merging one item with another. Even specifying genre, I still wouldn't remove the developer of the game, primarily because:
  1. genre, release year and game title may be the same.
  2. Help:Description#Common formulas explicitly suggests including the creator of the work. Regards Kirilloparma (talk) 04:50, 27 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
