Your user page

edit

Hi Michaelgraaf. I just happened to notice the new text on your user page here on Wikidata (during a routine check of pages that I deleted and that have been restored or recreated since). You are complaining that I deleted it rather than just reverting the vandalism (by an IP). I am really sorry that you find my action disturbing. However, the IP actually created the user page (with some nonsense text fragments, probably intended to be spam, as a commercial URL was the only content of the edit summary) - you never edited it before and so there was no version that I could have restored. All I could have done instead would have been blanking your page, which would have resulted in you having a blank user page without never having expressed that you want to have one at all. Next time I will find such a case, I will explain the situation to the user affected, though. --YMS (talk) 12:11, 12 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
