Belussowa

edit

Hi! Where do you have the information from that Ludmila Belousova died in Lake Placid? I have removed it, as I can't find anything on the net as to where she died. Mycomp (talk) 08:54, 30 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

It's world wide news. Why not start with a Russian site e.g. this one? Miebner (talk) 09:31, 30 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
I am just wondering why no English-language or German-language sites, for example, have that information. Mycomp (talk) 14:20, 30 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
Just read the news! German news outlets do indeed report that she died in Lake Placid (e.g. Zeit Online) but reference to the original Russian reports. I haven't seen German or English language obituaries though that have the date of death included. --Miebner (talk) 18:31, 30 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

VIAF members

edit

Hi (and excuse me for writing in English)! I've seen that in Gertrūda Benze (Q16451405) you have extracted manually VIAF members from the VIAF cluster. You can try User:Bargioni/moreIdentifiers, which provides you a very easy and fast way to extract VIAF members from VIAF clusters. Ask me if you have any doubt! Bye, --Epìdosis 09:13, 27 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

I generally do not trust VIAF. VIAF clusters quite often screw up different authors. Thus, an extraction of authority control data from a VIAF cluster – that I personally do not consider as a trustworthy authority control data set – requires a mandatory manual check up. I will give it try. Yet, I have serious doubt that using your tool will enhance duplicating dubious data from VIAF into Wd. It might be useful though for checking if any authority control data is clustered in VIAF beyond the data already stored in Wd. --Miebner (talk) 19:58, 30 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
It`s just items that ought to merged, but apparently you missed that in Gertrūda Benze (Q16451405) that a second VIAF cluster 4508161392918158480004 needs to be merged. I just added that data set manually. --Miebner (talk) 20:03, 30 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
