Global account edit

Hi Njh! As a Steward I'm involved in the upcoming unification of all accounts organized by the Wikimedia Foundation (see m:Single User Login finalisation announcement). By looking at your account, I realized that you don't have a global account yet. In order to secure your name, I recommend you to create such account on your own by submitting your password on Special:MergeAccount and unifying your local accounts. If you have any problems with doing that or further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page. Cheers, DerHexer (talk) 12:03, 17 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello DerHexer,

I do have a global account - my username is Nhumfrey - but I was very sad to not get User:Njh when the global account were created. So I have been avoiding using it.

But according to Special:CentralAuth/Njh, there's no global account yet created. And since you do use the local account with the most edits, you should be able to register the global account for yourself by submitting your password on Special:MergeAccount. As soon as you have a completed global Njh account (which could take some time as the SUL finalization will probably be finished not before April 2015), it could be merged with your Nhumfrey and could even get the Njh username. For that purpose, stewards will get an account merge tool by late January/early February 2015. If you have problems with submitting your password for Njh, please tell me so that we can solve them together. If you have forgotten your password but an email address set, you can request a new temporary password on Special:PasswordReset. Cheers, DerHexer (talk) 13:10, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very much for your help User:DerHexer. I have now registered the Special:CentralAuth/Njh global account. I had a few problems with the password reset system not working and showing what I think was a 500 Server Error page, but having tried again tonight, it is working correctly. Are you able to help me merge my old User:Nhumfrey accounts on the Wikidata and English Wikipedia wikis? Thanks --Njh (talk) 23:34, 27 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I can help you. Unfortunately, we have to wait until your global account is completed. I was able to usurp some local accounts which clashed with your global accounts following the m:Usurpation policy, the remaining ones will be automatically usurped during SUL finalization till April 2015 by the Wikimedia Foundation. As soon as both your accounts are completed global ones, stewards can merge these accounts upon their request with the account merge tool which will be provided by the Wikimedia Foundation in February. Radio "station ID" edit

For longer time I wanted to propose new property for radio stations (PI), then later I've discovered there's Broadcast Radio Bearer URI you've proposed. I think this more elementary property would make sense too, as many stations are broadcast in more multiplexes, and the situation can change multiple times, while the station ID remains (although I've seen some rare cases of different ID for DAB vs FM). What do you think? —Mykhal (talk) 15:57, 13 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
