Q54802141 a conflation? edit

Hi, thanks for your edit here, though I'd appreciate your input at Talk:Q54802141 about what looks like a conflation on this item. Whom do you think it should be about? Dsp13 (talk) 13:32, 26 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Dsp13, thank you for contacting me. I should have noticed that the Talk page isn't empty before reverting the edit. Now I gave some options there. Also, instead of removing the unrelated properties, one can deprecate them with the reason "applies to other person" (Q35773207). PKalnai (talk) 18:47, 26 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Deprecated rank edit

Hi. For your future information, regarding your revert, my edits were correct. We often use the deprecated rank when identifiers are invalid rather than deleting them. The reason is that this prevents other editors/bots from re-importing the incorrect values again. Also, the identifier was imported from English Wikipedia, and was then removed there. For these reasons I will undo your edit on Tiziana Margaria (Q56643867) — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:27, 9 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello Martin,
thank you for contacting me. I'm aware about the best practices with the deprecated rank, Help:Deprecation#Background. I was resolving constraint violations for DBLP author ID, Wikidata:Database reports/Constraint violations/P2456, and the statement is listed among Format violations (unfortunately the page does not show deprecations). The logic behind my revert was the fact, that the false claim is not on Wikipedia anymore, so it can't be imported again. I don't object your edit, but I would prefer if the statement is deleted. Doctoral advisor edit

Hi, thanks to revert the incorrect property used in some doctoral thesis uploaded by me. In the last uploads (from 5 or 6 months ago) I did not include this property, I only included it in the doctorand item. Ferran Mir (talk) 08:30, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Ferran Mir,
thank you for agreeing on that. Yes, those edits were quite old (from 2018-2021). There are still around 90 doctoral theses with a doctoral advisor (from various editors). I plan to revert those as well, in the case the information is present in the expected way (the mutual doctoral student-advisor relation). PKalnai (talk) 09:00, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

HENK PELSER edit

The addition of https://www.scopus.com/authid/detail.uri?authorId=6602172729 at Henk Pelser (1916-2007) wikidata is incorrect, because he could have written documents after his death, he didnot work in Leiden. Pobag63 (talk) 13:58, 2 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Pobag63,
all right, it looks like the Scopus profile isn't (completely) correct: it contains some psychosomatic research (which agrees with the Wikipedia article of Henk Pelser), but the affiliation to the Leiden University is wrong. Thanks for pointing out. PKalnai (talk) 21:53, 3 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
