"Works" vs "Editions" edit

Hello Wlodzimierz. Thank you for contributing to Wikidata. I appreciate your work here.

I saw that you added s:sr:Минсорел to The Minstrel Boy (Q1052799). This is not correct because s:sr:Минсорел is an edition, not a work, but The Minstrel Boy (Q1052799) is a work, not an edition.

I have fixed it for you. I split The Minstrel Boy (Q1052799) into two different items. The three items are:

  1. The Minstrel Boy (Q1052799) is a song (a poem, a literary work). It was written in English by Thomas Moore in the early 19th century.
  2. Minsorel (Q60998012) is a translation of The Minstrel Boy (Q1052799). It is written in Serbian. The translator is Ilija Beleslijin (Q60998023). It was first published in Zora (Q25556349) in 1897. It is linked to s:sr:Минсорел

In the future, please create separate Wikidata items for each of the following:

  • The original work
  • Each translation of the work
  • Each published copy of the original work
  • Each published copy of a translation of the work.

You can read more about these rules at WD:Wikisource/How to help. I can also answer questions. Beleg Tâl (talk) 14:01, 20 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

sr:Маховине edit

The article called "Маховине" at sr.WP is entirely about moss (Q25347). It has no sections or images that pertain to the broader group bryophyte (Q29993). The names are often confused because both groups can be called "Bryophyta", but Wikidata judges by the content of the article, not by the name. And in this case the article is only about moss (Q25347). --EncycloPetey (talk) 19:38, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
