Merging items edit

Hallo Ziraffo,
When you (want to) merge items, you may want to use the merge.js gadget from help page about merging. It helps with merging and removes the need to file a request on Wikidata:Requests for deletions.

Start list edit

Hello, thank you very much that you fill the start lists for the cycling races. Just for your information, I have a script to make it very quickly. I download the results from UCI website, and then I use the code here in python. Then it takes only 2 clicks if all the riders are already in Wikidata. edit: I see that you comment the edit with "batch", so I suppose you also have a script. Cycling race participant edit

Hi, When you add/change participants on a cycling race. Is it possible to set them as unknown value instead of deleting them, at the same time add them where it says unknown value and the correct sport number. So that all sport number are in order and by team. Like in Q124219303 is it right now 3 unknown value which can be changed to participant when someone with this number is added. Since I work in batches from homemade templates, I cannot automatically change an unknown value to a known value. I would have to do that by hand which is about 75x more time consuming. If a sport number is unattributed yet, there should be no entry.
Do you change these informations by hand? I see on GP Criquielion 2024 that you added rankings by sport number, not by position in the race. It is way faster and less time consuming to add all these info by batch using a script or quickstatemnts.
I don't think the order of entries in the wikidata page is relevant, as long as infos are printed correctly to the corresponding wikis. Ziraffo (talk) 16:46, 3 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
