Paola Andrea Munoz Grandon edit

Special Request edit

Hello @Psemdel:, thanks a lot for all your work with the bot @CyclingInitBot:. I need a special request to you. I've checking the new contributions of Bot with the new races created to Calendrier international féminin UCI 2018. Please, I need you to add these new races to be add into property has part/comprend from Calendrier international féminin UCI 2018. It would be nice because everyone can to know which new races was added into calendar 2018. Thanks a lot, Kindest Regards. Douglasfugazi (talk)

Douglasfugazi Hello, yes I also saw Yesterday, that there was no race in "Calendrier international féminin UCI 2018". We can automatize its filling up to a certain extent if the people fill the field "part of" with "Calendrier international féminin UCI 2018". I don't know how much time I need to do that, but it should be done in January. Psemdel (talk) 13:52, 4 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
By the way, try to keep the alphabetic order for the team. Otherwise it will look strange when we display it... Psemdel (talk) 13:53, 4 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Amazing. Thank your so much! Douglasfugazi (talk)

@Douglasfugazi: It's done :). Psemdel (talk) 21:14, 14 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Règle de typo pour CyclingInitBot edit

Bonjour,

Cdlt, VIGNERON (talk) 13:18, 28 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

oui, je vais regarder. Enfin en début de phrase c'est une majuscule, non? Disons que ca ne me choque pas fort. Psemdel (talk) 20:08, 28 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Bug at calendarcustom edit

Hi. I am checking latest version of code to update eswiki, but I found a bug for dates in calendarcustom. Previous versions showed me short dates (3 digits for months) and now I can see full digits in 2.XX races and short digits for 1.XX races. Repf72 (talk) 19:40, 22 October 2018 (UTC) This is an example at eswiki of current article with right display (3 digits for months in all races): es:UCI America Tour 2018Reply

This is an example at testing environment of latest code at Wikidata, for same calendar and same options: es:Usuario:Repf72/Taller6

Could you please check this issue? Regards. Repf72 (talk) 18:53, 22 October 2018 (UTC) Repf72, hello and thank you for your feedback. In the old version, the function fn_date was defined especially for calendar, once, and for victory a second time. I centralized everything in fn_date. fn_date itself calls a new general function: getStartEndTime. Here is the "problem". In its basic variant, it makes only long dates. I added some lines of code to correct the issue for fr. It has unfortunately to be added for each language separately. I made it for ES, you can try. Psemdel (talk) 19:17, 22 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

I am sorry. Now I got "Error de Lua en Módulo:Cycling_race en la línea 1448: attempt to concatenate a nil value."Repf72 (talk) 19:40, 22 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Repf72 I have not made any change at that place of the code, it is strange. Can you give me a link (I really can't test on WP:es, I don't have the right to create a "module", or do you know how to get an authorization, I don't speak spanish at all :/). Psemdel (talk) 20:04, 22 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hey, I just noticed (XD) that I can test the module for other languages without creating a module on each one, by modifying "wiki" on row 3 to anything... It just doesn't display correctly the month, because a local function is called. But I have no "nil..." [here] Psemdel (talk) 05:48, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Cycling race/stagetitle edit

Hi friend. I suggest to create some kind of "Cycling race/stagetitle" in order to use info from Wikidata to generate a "stagetitle" in wikipedia articles to give better information about stage and GC classifications (not just put stage classification and GC classification with no more info) like we implemented manually at ES-Wiki (example: HERE. Are you agree? It is easy for you create it? Regards. Repf72 (talk) 17:50, 19 April 2019 (UTC) @Repf72:, I recognize the English way to display the stages :). Yes, it is possible to implement it. It will be done. Psemdel (talk) 07:17, 20 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you friend. If you prefer format: "<From> - <To> <StageProfileLogo> <(xxx Km)>" maybe it could be better than format I currently use, due it is the order shown at "listofstages", so I do not have problem replacing with the new format. Regards. Repf72 (talk) 19:21, 21 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, very much for this feature.Repf72 (talk) 23:21, 15 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Bug at "p.listofstagesclassification" edit

Hi friend, I am checking the p.listofstagesclassification function to use it, but if you click some link for one stage (example: "2e étape") it should link to the stage article if exist or do not do anything like current p.listofstages function do, but now currently it link to (maybe) last link programmed.

Please check this link for Giro d'Italia 2019. Repf72 (talk) 23:28, 15 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

And as suggestion, I think due we have here a new design adding flag of riders, could be useful to add a column with the stage profile icon between "stage number" and "winner", in order to have a quick view about type of stage and winner (flat stage <-> sprinter). Regards.Repf72 (talk) 23:43, 15 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Repf72: Hello, I noticed Yesterday that this function was used for the Giro and I also thought that it needs some improvement. I will check the issue with the links (it must not be a big deal). Stage icon is a good idea. I also wanted to avoid the "not attributed" for stages in the future. Still some work to do :). But I am happy that it is tested and seems to be useful. Psemdel (talk) 18:57, 16 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Repf72: please update the code of the module on WP:es, I can't. For the icon, I will give it a try soon. Psemdel (talk) 19:25, 16 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Salut,

Pour information, les descriptions sur Wikidata ne sont pas des titres ni des phrases. Adjust for "Modèle:Cycling race/listofwinnerscustom" edit

Can you introduce a new parameter (example | start_date = 1930 |) for listofwinnerscustom in order to set initial date to show data? It would be useful to some races like Tour de France in order to not show years before introducing secundary classifications Example Repf72 (talk) 03:18, 27 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Update on mk.wiki edit

Hi, in the past few days, user Jérémy made big update in Модул:Cycling race on Macedonian Wikipedia, but I noticed that Macedonian translations added on every item about teams did not work in table Cycling race/listofteams, although on every other infobox or table (as stage classification, or infobox) is working. I made some changes by myself (even on Module here on Wikidata), but I cannot correct this issue. Please visit Тур де Свис 2019 to see yourself. Could you please look at that? Thank you in advance. --Ehrlich91 (talk) 14:46, 11 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Ehrlich91:, thank you for the feedback. I also said Yesterday Jérémy to avoid doing updates like that. For you problem, I found it out. On your example it now makes a columns, but if you look mk:Разговор со корисник:Psemdel, it looks normal. Psemdel (talk) 22:52, 12 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Displaying Russian names when using Module:Cycling race on mk.wiki edit

Hi Psemdel, again me :) This time with another problem. I notice that when in Wikidata item exist propery (P1813) with Russian translation, module on mk.wiki displays that Russian name, although exist Macedonian translation on the name in the description of the name. Could you please advise about this problem? --Ehrlich91 (talk) 16:12, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Ehrlich91:, do you have an example? The code should give mk first... Psemdel (talk) 21:36, 9 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Psemdel: Sorry that I didn`t include example. Here is Russian cyclist Vyacheslav Kuznetsov (Q2120951), who have property P1813, so on Катјуша-Алпесин in 2019, you can notice Russian cyrillic letters, instead of his proper Macedonian transcription. Also, this happen in all templates, as infobox for races (Гент-Вевелгем 2016). I hope that is now clearer for you. --Ehrlich91 (talk) 09:42, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I thought it is better to have "ru" official name than "mk" label. But obviously not. Psemdel (talk) 19:00, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Course annulée edit

Salut Psemdel.

Module:Cycling race/data exporter edit

Hi friend. I am trying to understand the code optimization you made. I understand that using Module:Cycling race/data exporter could be possible to export lang code to local wiki or something like that, but I do not have idea how to "execute" code or use it. Can you clarify how to deal this? Thank you. Repf72 (talk) 18:15, 28 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Psemdel: Could you please refer me some document about this issue? ES-Wiki is still outdated, so I´d like to update it. Regards. Repf72 (talk) 02:41, 5 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Repf72:, Hi! Sorry, it seems that I oversaw your message. So I did: [1], you should create Módulo:Cycling race/I10n on WP:es (that I cannot do). And copy the content of Module:Cycling race/data exporter inside it, so:
--Contains all translation for Module:Cycling race
--To export to a local wiki use
--https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Module:Cycling_race/data_exporter
--== IV) Translation ==
return

[...]

	func_prologue_translate={"Prólogo"},

	black_list={}
    }
}

Afterwards, you can update Cycling race. Psemdel (talk) 12:16, 5 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Victories edit

Hi! Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick send me to you so I will just copy my message to him, maybe you can help with that issue ;). I have a small problem with fr:Modèle:Cycling race/victories at pl.wiki. User who had imported the whole module to our wiki couldn't help me with that so maybe will be able to do so. At fr.wiki you have such a feature that fr:Modèle:Cycling race/victories gives an information about number of stage like "1e étape du Tour de San Juan" and at pl.wiki we got instead only a name of a whole race without number of stage ("Vuelta a San Juan") which looks like that cyclist had won the wole race instead of a single stage (you can compare a list of examples at pl:Szablon:Cycling race/victories). Do you know how to change it? It just needs to be set as "Number of stage". etap "Name of the race" - for example "1. etap Vuelta a San Juan". I will really appreciate help as my "technical" skills are so low that I'm definitely not able to do so in my own ;). Whole module is really great (I just found it only a day before this year's Tour de Pologne had started) and I even started to add Polish UCI races at Wikidata and pl.wiki thanks to it, it is really helpful. 99kerob (talk) 11:54, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

@99kerob:, Hi, up to now the module was not much used on WP:PL, so I am not very surprised that it is not perfect. I give it a look, it is probably a very small issue. Psemdel (talk) 16:38, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Ok, so in 2020, I splat the module itself from the translation. They are now under [2]. I created the module for you. Let me know if there are other problems. Psemdel (talk) 16:58, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Calendar edit

Hi! Can you add also UCI ProSeries for default calendar? And can you also correct Polish version of calendar to make dates looks the same for both one day races and stage races? Look for example here and check how it looks now - one day races are shown in different way than stage races. Same thing apply also for "victories" part of module at pl.wiki - check for example CCC Development Team. 99kerob (talk) 11:06, 16 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • @99kerob: I will answer a little for Psemdel

Replace <includeonly>{{#invoke:Cycling race|calendar|{{{1}}}}}</includeonly><noinclude>{{Dokumentacja}}</noinclude> on <includeonly>{{#invoke:Cycling race|calendar|{{{1}}}={{{2}}}}}</includeonly><noinclude>{{Cycling race/calendar|Pro|2020}}</noinclude>

UCI ProSeries already present in the module, here is its code {{Cycling race/calendar|Pro|2020}} It is better not to do the calendar of the European tour through the module. He will not be able to display all races - there will be not enough resources.

For dates (if understood correctly), the code starting with elseif wiki == "pl" thenGAN (talk) 14:15, 16 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I am on holiday until end of next week, sorry. Gan is right, as the data and translations are now saved separately, when you update the module some adaptions must be performed (but the "old" version is also working). For the pro calendar, I should have a look. I am normally focused on women cycling, sometimes men are different and some adaptions must be implemented. Can you help with translations to the Faroese Wikipedia? edit

Hello Psemdel. On the Faroese Wikipedia (fo) we are using the Module:Cycling race and its related templates. But there are still some words occurring in English, and I have learned from user Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick that it has to do with this module.

The startlist translation should be: ["fo"] = {"Startlisti", "Nr.", "Súkklari","Støða","Ítróttarstjóri:","DNF","HD","DNS","DQ","landavegur","einkultstart","og", "onki lið","vís","fjal"},
The startlisttable: ["fo"] = {"Startlisti", "Nr.", "Súkklari","Liðnavn","Støða"},

The race_reference_translate: ["fo"] = {"Kelda: ","Keldur: "}, The calendar_translate: ["fo"] = {"","Dato", "#","Kapping", "Land", "Flokkur", "Vinnari","Annaðpláss", "Triðjapláss", "Førandi súkklari","UCI Women's World Tour","","UCI World Tour","UCI Europe Tour","UCI Asia Tour","UCI America Tour","UCI Africa Tour","UCI Oceania Tour","Landsmeistaraskapur","Landaveg","Einkultstartur", "UCI ProSeries"},

victories_translate - the ["fo"] is there already, but many of the words are in English, could you correct them please, lik this:

["fo"]={"Samlað støða", "Sigrar", "Dato", "Kapping", "Land", "Flokkur", "Vinnari","Teinur","Forteinur"}, listofstagesclassification_translate: ["fo"]={"ikki býtt út","Samlað"},

I hope this was not too much and that this was the right place. Best regards EileenSanda (talk) 15:31, 28 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

@EileenSanda:, hi, no problem, the split of the data from the module created a bit of confusion. So basically, when a word is added to avoid bugs, we add it in English in all languages. That's the reason. Of course, it is only provisory until some speaker writes the correct translation. The process is presently as following:
  • edit l10n on wikidata
  • export it with the export function here
  • copy/paste it to your WP Module:Cycling_race/l10n.

I modify the list according to your corrections right away. Psemdel (talk) 15:52, 28 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Here it is [3], I also copied Module:Cycling_race/data. Normally you can make now copy/paste from the main module and it should work. Psemdel (talk) 16:02, 28 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks a lot! I hoped this would solve the issues, but the headlines in the victories template is still in English, do you know where this should be translated into Faroese? See for example this article - Victories should be "Sigrar", Date = Dato, Race = Kapping, Country = Land, Class = Flokkur, Winner = Vinnari. EileenSanda (talk) 22:51, 28 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
@EileenSanda: The module itself was an old version, with all translations inside. Updated. Check it out. — GAN (talk) 00:00, 29 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
@GAN: Wow, the problem is solved, thank you very much! --EileenSanda (talk) 05:05, 29 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
@EileenSanda: I prefered that you update yourself the main Module as your are the only one that can check, with your eyes and understanding of the language, if everything is ok. It may happens that by updating at once some pages have error messages because of some exceptions, and that I want to avoid. Psemdel (talk) 07:32, 29 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Problem with displaying "cyryllic" names via module edit

Hi! I noticed a problem at module for a small group of cyclists whose "original" names are written in cyryllic. In different languages there are used different types of transcription from cyryllic into latin alphabet (for example Александр Власов will be "Aleksandr Vlasov" in English, "Alexander Wlassow" in German and "Aleksandr Własow" in Polish)". In most cases it is solved by displaying a name from a label for each cyclist. But there is a problem when such cyclist has also set an info like official name or short name because module don't use a specific language for each Wikipedia but he first one set at Wikidata - for example Q3341512 has set both an official name in French ("Nikita Stalnov") and Polish ("Nikita Stalnow") which are different (as we use different transcriptions from cyryllic) but on Polish Wikipedia French version instead of Polish one is displayed as it was added earlier on Wikidata. Same problem appeared also for Vlasov but I solved it by deleting these claims. In case of Stalnov it can't be done that way as he changed his surname (he was using one surname until 2014 and other one since 2015) and it can't be displayed properly via a label. 99kerob (talk) 15:38, 3 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@99kerob:, it is an interesting case. I don't see any easy solution. Name is really the most difficult topic: no name is bad, bad name is bad also. Psemdel (talk) 19:04, 3 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

"listofstagesclassification" customized edit

Hi friend. Can you make a customized "p.listofstagesclassification"in order to allow select classifications to display and avoid some void datafilled classifications or simply not desired classification as example this for giro 2020?. Repf72 (talk) 01:32, 16 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Repf72: Interesting case, yes will add an exception. Psemdel (talk) 18:25, 16 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

User:GAN/sandbox <-- I have a draft list of all the classifications, as I made several new ones, including for pre-war races and tournaments / seasons. Not all are included in the module now.

You can turn off the auto-fill of the last stage leaders with race winners Some classifications may not be identified in the last step. For example, the fighting classification for the Tour de France.

For these two classifications of Q21686770 and Q20893984, make one single result Q20893983. This will allow to display the winners in a single list in "listpfwinners". The difference between the two "Qxx" is visible in the template for the stage

Q21686770 - displayed along with the winners
Q20893984 - displayed together with the leaders of other classifications

I tried to change { name = translate("infobox",19), QID = 'Q20882747'} to { name = frame.args[1] or translate("infobox",19), QID = 'Q20882747'} so that you can specify any name for classification. For example, instead of "national" indicate "the best Italian driver". Worked

I also left a request for the Cycling-init-bot, look. — GAN (talk) 19:27, 16 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

If it works and is ready don't hesitate to "merge" with the module. I have no ownership on it. Otherwise, I will have a look at that on the week-end. I am a bit short of time under the week right now. Psemdel (talk) 19:46, 16 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I am quite busy with some other personal project, I still have come not to that... Psemdel (talk) 18:47, 30 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Cycling national teams 2021 edit

Hi Psemdel, thank you for all your work with CyclingInitBot.

Could your bot create the cycling national teams for the 2021 season? Thank you in advance. --Hejsa (talk) 23:20, 17 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Hejsa: Good idea! I do this today. Psemdel (talk) 12:59, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Hejsa: The teams should be there. Psemdel (talk) 20:17, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Ranking edit

Hi! Today I was copying Wikidata's version of cycling module into pl.wiki but this version causes an error in all articles using rider ranking ("Błąd Lua w module „Moduł:Cycling_race”, w linii 7683: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value).") so I reversed it into former one. If you know how to fix that problem feel free to update module at pl.wiki and correct that one. 99kerob (talk) 17:47, 10 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

@99kerob: Try updating again Module:Cycling race/dataGAN (talk) 18:40, 10 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
@GAN: Works, thanks! 99kerob (talk) 18:55, 10 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
@99kerob:, @GAN: Thanks GAN, sorry 99kerob. I always updated /data also on WP:pl to avoid you issue, don't know what I forgot. Psemdel (talk) 19:59, 10 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Polish month names in module edit

Hi once again! ;) Some time ago I wrote at module discussion about form of month names at Polish Wiki - I still don't know how to correct that. Can you take a look in a free time and do it? You can find correct version at module discussion. I use module more and more at pl.wiki so it needs to be done as current version is a language mistake. 99kerob (talk) 17:11, 9 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ok, I thought GAN helped you. I should have a look. Psemdel (talk) 09:09, 10 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Already today someone pointed out that mistake with months at pl.wiki but OK, I will wait as I have no idea how to do that ;). Two other things: 1) That "information" from rider infobox should be moved to "l10n" to get it translated same way as others infoboxes (GAN already corrected that one), 2) Can you remove displaying current age of cyclists at rider infobox at pl.wiki? There are some concerns about displaying such info so it should be not displayed at pl.wiki same way as weight is no displayed. 99kerob (talk) 18:09, 10 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
I looked a little Polish months. Most likely the module does not see the value from the "P2561" parameter for each month. In ru-wiki, the module does not see this parameter for multi-day races. — GAN (talk) 22:35, 10 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
  Done, @99kerob: I really thought it was solved. Now it is. So GAN changed the function getStartEndTime, which is called for stage races. It displays things like "March 5th - April 10th 2021". But for single day race, it is funcDate which is called. Normally it works pretty fine as all languages use it as it is. For the declination I had to add an exception for PL. Concerning, the age not displayed it is also done. Psemdel (talk) 08:33, 13 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks a lot, looks great! 99kerob (talk) 07:35, 15 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Hi! Once again it's me ;). That change causes errors at pl.wiki (for example pl:Wikipedysta:99kerob/ITT was broken) - I reversed it to earlier version which isn't causing any errors. I don't know what exactly is wrong there but you may have a look on that in the future - not need to hurry as at pl.wiki earlier version is working OK, but maybe some other Wikis has a problem with that change too. 99kerob (talk) 18:24, 27 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Psemdel (talk) 13:11, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

National championships edit

Dear Psemdel,

I am writing to you as the author of the CyclingInitBot and maintainer of the Cyling-race Module. First of all, I am really grateful for the job that your programs are doing in filling the Wikiproject Cycling with life!

The more immediate reason for my message are the difficulties I had in trying to understand the way national championships are structured in Wikidata. As a remedy, I posted some proposals at the Wikiproject talk page. I would like to hear your advice most of all, especially since there would be a few minor changes for the CyclingInitBot (mostly adding some properties) for which I would need your support. I have studied the source code of the bot and believe that I could implement these changes myself, with your permission. No changes would be required for the Cycling Module. Thanks in advance for any advice that you could give me in this matter. -- Best regards, Rz98 (talk) 22:44, 26 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Rz98:, first nice to meet you! Yes, you can perform merge requests. It is no problem at all. I read your text. Psemdel (talk) 08:56, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Rz98:, for info, I start rewritting my bot. It was my first python project and I know it is ugly. But I was more in the "never touch a running system mood". Knowing that someone see that... gave me a bit of motivation. Psemdel (talk) 10:26, 10 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi Psemdel,
Thanks for the heads-up, and good luck! I've been busying myself with writing a tool that can (one not-too-distant day hopefully) cross-reference the data that one finds on the UCI website. Also, I'm preparing to add the Moldovan national championships - only 2016 seems to have been done so far, and since 2020 they have a women's edition. I'll try out the new structure with those (I haven't forgotten about it!). -- Best regards, Rz98 (talk) 10:24, 15 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Rz98: Here it is https://github.com/psemdel/CyclingInitBot/tree/v2 Of course, still a bit of testing to do. Psemdel (talk) 20:15, 28 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
For national championships, your bot puts the parameters in a different order. For previous years, they are listed in a different order. — GAN (talk) 12:02, 16 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
You are right, P31 and P361 are exchanged... Psemdel (talk) 14:33, 16 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Also instead of P2094 should be P279. https://dropmefiles.com/j1XWc This is a file with Qxxx (for bot and module) for all championships + all jerseys for champions. Only Belgium and Denmark are not completely done. — GAN (talk) 15:01, 16 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Those functions that are called once a year are always difficult to test... Psemdel (talk) 16:41, 16 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

new version of Module:Cycling race edit

Hi. In cawiki we're working with a pre-2020 version because the "cycling editor" who take care is no longer collaborating. My intention is up to date the system. As I understand, you have extracted all values outside the module code and put it in /data, for sport relate Qid's, and /l10n, with text to be translated by the WPs users. is it?. Well:

  • regarding /data: since you created it in cawiki ([4]), the WD master version has been updated. Should I make a total refresh as an easy and fast work?.
  • From now, do the changes of this module made just by you (in WD master version) and we just have to copy regularly?
  • Last, I'd replace our module by the newest Module:Cycling race. Should I do any tuning after copy ?.

Is it correct?. Thanks for your good job !!. Amadalvarez (talk) 10:29, 10 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Amadalvarez, /data is independent from the language, so you can actualize it and the module at the same time without fear. I cannot do it for WP:ca, that's why it is not done. For l10n, there is the exporter. I set in on "ca": https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Module:Cycling_race/data_exporter still some translation missing though, please check/cross check with the present version. Note the evolution of the Module is signifantly slower than before, it is mature so to say. Psemdel (talk) 10:35, 10 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Sorry. I don't understand where should I translate the unstranslated texts for /l10n ?. Thanks, Amadalvarez (talk) 22:50, 10 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Amadalvarez: Translate to ca-wiki. I copied from Module:Cycling race/data exporter all the text part up to the "Code" section in ca:Cycling_race/l10n. For the teaminfobox_translate= section, I took the es-version from Module:Cycling race/l10n all. Since from there, if the required language version is not available, the English version is taken, but it is not there. — GAN (talk) 23:58, 10 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Excuse me. I see now. Great !!. Amadalvarez (talk) 05:14, 11 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
WARNING: We have LUA errors with new version; "Error de Lua a Module:Cycling_race a la línia 5370: table from mw.loadData is read-only."

Thanks to fix it, please. Amadalvarez (talk) 22:13, 15 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Amadalvarez:, I used a work around. A copy() in python would do, but I don't know how to use it in Lua. Psemdel (talk) 11:39, 16 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Two questions:
  • Why it runs in french copy, for instance?.
  • Does it mean that cawiki will have a specific version of module?. It's just to keep in mind and document this aspect on top of code.
Thanks, again. Amadalvarez (talk) 14:58, 16 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
The row if wiki == "ca" then bg_color_table["Q24257763"] = "lightpink" end makes the problem. If you delete it, you can use again the standard code. Otherwise, like I did, just add manually bg_color_table to the code. It is not a big deal. Psemdel (talk) 15:04, 16 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
In my opinion is negligible the difference between     lightpink    and     #FFC0CB   . I don't know who and why asked for this specificity for cawiki, but if deleting the line we'll be closer to the standard version, I assume the decision to do it.
I did it and seems it's OK. Could you, please take a glance to the change?. And eliminate in the master, if you consider. Thanks, Amadalvarez (talk) 16:03, 16 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Amateur teams in rider infobox edit

Hi! One of your last edits inside a module somehow messed up with rider infoboxes as infobox are not recognising amateur teams as amateur ones anymore (check for example: pl:Kamiel Bonneu - both Home Solution and GM Recycling were amateurs at the time and should be displayed in different section of infobox than Sport Vlaanderen). 99kerob (talk) 07:04, 7 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ok
@99kerob:   Done. Fixed. I added some unittests for that. Psemdel (talk) 19:35, 7 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
And here is another bug: pl:Orlen Wyścig Narodów 2020 - moreover these team names shouldn't be displayed that way (earlier on they were displayed as: "Country name" U23, for example "Polska U23" which worked good). 99kerob (talk) 09:40, 9 September 2022 (UTC) And also team category recognition doesn't work in case of teams that don't have a specific season item (check: pl:Tour of Britain 2022). 99kerob (talk) 09:57, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
I will add a little:
--- "headoftableIII_translate" (not female) is missing "U23, U19, B,". But if you add it, then they will be numbered 34, 35 and 36
--- They have different numbers in the module
local t={Q20738667=36, Q54555994=37, Q99658502=38}
if t[catID] then --add U23, U19, B, (note: why "B" and not B)

GAN (talk) 14:54, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
@GAN:, @99kerob:, better? Psemdel (talk) 15:16, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
And one other thing - places names should be displayed using local languages like it was until recent changes - for example in pl:Mistrzostwa Europy w Kolarstwie Szosowym 2022 – wyścig ze startu wspólnego mężczyzn there should be "Monachium" (which is a Polish name for that city) instead of "München". 99kerob (talk) 10:24, 11 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
I will look. Psemdel (talk) 10:28, 11 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Somehow also ranking part of module stopped working - check for example: pl:Benoît Cosnefroy. 99kerob (talk) 10:36, 11 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
@99kerob: Try updating Cycling race, Cycling race/data and Cycling race/l10n. Changes have been made to the Ratings template. — GAN (talk) 10:46, 11 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Just did it, but somehow... maybe my cache is playing with me. Psemdel (talk) 10:52, 11 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
@99kerob: I restarted, but I don't understand it tells me there is an error at the line 7582, but now there is nothing at line 7582... How does WP:pl caches this kind of things? Psemdel (talk) 10:59, 11 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Rankings are working great again but in case of pl:Alec Segaert there is a weird error with a rider infobox 99kerob (talk) 08:09, 19 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

@99kerod: Ah it is bad, I am on a trip and I cannot have a look before Thursday. Sorry for that. It is most probably solve in 5 minutes... with a computer (not phone). Psemdel (talk) 08:41, 19 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Psemdel and @99kerod: I may have found the cause of the error. She is connected with future teams in the course of her career. More precisely, if this date is NOT the next 2023, but any after it 2024, 2025, ..... Alec Segaert (Q108458135) For his current team "Lotto-Soudal U23" I removed "end date" = "July 1, 2024". After that, the module stopped giving an error. But at the same time, his future team's TEMPLATE "Lotto-Soudal" instead of "start date" = "July 1, 2024" displayed the next year "2023". — GAN (talk) 10:14, 19 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thx. I also suspected this team in the future to be the cause. It will take more than 5 min to solve, but I will do it. Psemdel (talk) 10:17, 19 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Segaert is now displayed the right way but there is another problem with team names on rider infoboxes in case of current teams which changed their names - if rider do not have "P582" for such team (he is still a part of this team) only team name from a year that he joined it is displayed and all changes after that day are ignored - check for example pl:Michael Matthews: 2013-2016 period is displayed right with two different names of Orica but period from 2021 has only name from 2021 and 2022 change is not displayed at all in a list of teams (current name is displayed right only in current team section). 99kerob (talk) 18:45, 25 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
I guess that I will never stop bothering you :P. One more thing - UCIClassification now displays only TOP1000 I guess which is not a good solution (earlier on it was displaying all cyclists for each team) - for example in case of pl:Wibatech Merx w sezonie 2020 there are only 2 athletes displayed instead of 6 who were classified in UCI ranking. 99kerob (talk) 08:59, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
@99kerob:, you don't bother me. If something is not as expected, it is normal to correct it. Let me have a look.Edit: It was a quick one, I wrote unlimited and set it to 1000, somehow... Psemdel (talk) 16:38, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Rider infobox edit

Hi! Can you make some changes for rider infobox? In case of pl.wiki I would like to remove displaying of these elements: "Birthname", "Nickname", "Official name", "Short name" and "Speciality" (similar way as you did it previously for "weight") as all of them are not suitable for our Wiki. Also is it possible to display height in centimeters not metres for pl.wiki as it is displayed that way in all other infoboxes there? 99kerob (talk) 11:08, 21 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

@99kerob:, it is surely possible. For official name, are you sure? I mean it helps solving the issue with name changes for instance Philippa York or Elizabeth Deignan. Psemdel (talk) 20:55, 21 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
@99kerob:, Are you sure? Psemdel (talk) 14:51, 29 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
OK, so leave official name - if it won't work good I can always reach you once again in the future ;). 99kerob (talk) 11:16, 30 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

CyclingInitBot and Danish National Championships edit

Hi Psemdel

Is it possible that your bot User:CyclingInitBot could create the missing Danish National Championships, especially for the men?

I have created a sandbox where all the championships are collected ("linjeløb"="road race", "enkeltstart"="time trial"). See the sandbox here.

I hope you and your bot can help. Thank you in advance. Hejsa (talk) 11:56, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Hejsa:. Sure, may I trust the FR version for that? https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Championnats_du_Danemark_de_cyclisme_sur_route So 1897 as first one for the men on the road and so on... ? Psemdel (talk) 14:21, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Psemdel: Yes it looks right at first glance. I will check afterwards with https://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/DM_i_landevejscykling and Danish Cycling Federation. Thank you :-) --Hejsa (talk) 14:48, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Hejsa:, Psemdel. I see in Denmark in the late 1980s there were separate championships among amateurs and professionals. This situation is in several countries. Minimum of the USSR, Poland, Germany, GDR, Great Britain. Maybe such championships are divided into two - amateurs and prof. And not combine into one element? And not combine into one element? And "Cycling Race/NationalChampionships" will hardly process this. — GAN (talk) 16:54, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
@GAN: Oh, I see. Maybe it should be seperated into it's own thing. --Hejsa (talk) 18:59, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Just tell me what you want. The script is no problem. One more thing that may be important: if you try to display all categories with wikidata module, it will most probably lead to the excess of some limit (max entities reaches and so on). For instance, there is almost 100 editions x 3 riders : 300 entities. As I ran into the problem, I used a solution like here: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Championnats_de_Belgique_de_cyclisme_sur_route#Course_en_ligne_2 . So the begin of the table is hard coded (as it won't change), the end is dynamic (to have the advantage from wikidata). It is the same template, just without header. Just to make some expectation management, but anyhow it is good to have the data in wikidata. Psemdel (talk) 20:35, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please make it without the amateurs, only pros, when I will hard code the amateurs. I forgot about the limitations with Wikidata, but your solution with the Belgian National Championships looks fine, so I will try that. Hejsa (talk) 09:10, 28 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Hejsa: I lost the count. What is still missing? Psemdel (talk) 10:04, 1 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Psemdel: Hard to say, can the bot add the winners or is it a manual task? After that, it is easier to get an overview :-) --Hejsa (talk) 13:17, 2 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I found my old script. It inserts what it founds... Psemdel (talk) 15:36, 2 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, it seems like 1986 to 2010 is missing for the men's road race --Hejsa (talk) 17:48, 2 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ok. Psemdel (talk) 17:51, 2 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Normally, it is done (what was possible). Psemdel (talk) 16:36, 3 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very much for the help, I will now create the missing riders :-) I can later check what is missing for the U23 and juniors, if you want to create these races too? --Hejsa (talk) 19:08, 3 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
If you want, it is of course technically possible.

Cycling jerseys edit

Hi Psemdel. I see that the dark green jersey, points classification (Q116974523) does not become a colored stripe like other jerseys when used in a table on wikipedia (as you can see here no:Tour de France 2023#Trøyene dag for dag), it has already been entered here (Module:Cycling race/data) by GAN after I spoke to him. The same applies to the yellow jersey, young rider classification (Q119496153).

I also see that the Cycling race/stageinfobox shows the wrong jersey on points and most offensive rider after the Tour de France has changed color from green to dark green and red bib number to beige bib number. Is it possible to change this without ruining the previous years? The8 (talk) 22:49, 2 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Cycling init bot edit

Hi, I've signed up on the site for Cycling Int Bot (with the same name I'm using here) and I've put in a request to make stages and a couple of one-day races. I see you have to trigger them manually at the start, does it take a long time for them to be approved after I've registered? Had to delete the one request since the race started before they were approved. The8 (talk) 18:48, 16 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

I did it for the women, but I may have forgotten for the men. Thanks for the attention. I will do it Sunday evening. Psemdel (talk) 12:47, 24 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I remember now. The problem is that I don't find a proper digital source. UCI https://www.uci.org/discipline/road/6TBjsDD8902tud440iv1Cu?tab=rankings is the reference, but we cannot export in Excel anymore and the website is not parsable. PCS offers the option now: https://www.procyclingstats.com/rankings.php?date=2023-11-21&nation=&level=&filter=Filter&p=me&s=uci-teams but it starts this year. The figures are different from UCI... First cycling does not provide the team ranking https://firstcycling.com/ranking.php?h=1&rank=1&y=2023-42. So in the end, we can only do it manually. And frankly I don't have the time. I did it for the women, but won't do it for the men. Really sorry, but I still have 1000 things to do to complete the coverage of 2023 season and I have no clue when I will do it. https://dropmefiles.com/QaMp9 I manually copied all ratings for 10/17/2023 from https://dataride.uci.ch/iframe/Rankings/10/ into Excel for six tournaments. Is this format suitable for processing? The fractional part in points is separated by a dot, not a comma. — GAN (talk) 18:41, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ok, it will do. Sad that we need to do things manually. Psemdel (talk) 18:47, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Done.

Points classification 2023 for men's teams edit

Hi. Your Cycling Int Bot added the points classification 2023 to all women's teams. You will do it for the men's teams too? Kawona67 (talk) 08:20, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I still have no reliable source for the men. https://firstcycling.com/ranking.php?h=1&rank=1&y=2023-41 does not display the same value as the UCI website... https://www.procyclingstats.com/rankings/me/uci-individual idem if you have a source tell me. Psemdel (talk) 10:41, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
https://dropmefiles.com/KmalD Similarly, an individual rating from the topic is slightly higher. Team ratings look on the sheets with the letter "T" at the beginning. Source https://dataride.uci.ch/iframe/rankings/10/GAN (talk) 11:39, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
How do you manage to export them? There is no more export button (at least for me). Psemdel (talk) 13:10, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
And sorry, that I forgot that I already had that...
Manually copied. :) — GAN (talk) 13:16, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

So I used firstcycling, but it is not perfect. The values are a bit different than the UCI :/. For the women, it was the same.

Duplicate items edit

Hi. Your Cycling Init Bot added the women races to the 2024 calendar. But that didn't work completely well. Even if a race for 2024 already exists, a new item will be created. For Example: Q116298909 Can this be changed before you'll do it for men's races? Kawona67 (talk) 11:45, 5 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

a) I don't do it for men, too much work. b) Yes, it should be improved (PS: I just added a supplementary check)... it checks that the same page is not there, but of course if there is no French title. Nevertheless, I checked for duplicate afterwards, maybe I missed one or two, but I checked. Psemdel (talk) 18:36, 5 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Cycling Init Bot - National season edit

Hi, it looks like Cycling Init Bot is making errors on nation seasons. Recently created national season for Cyprus and USA, in Cyprus it did not add season of club or team, and in USA it added Venezuela men's national road cycling team. The8 (talk) 10:24, 7 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thx for the info, probably a copy/paste mistake in my data. Psemdel (talk) 20:01, 7 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
For the USA/VEN, I confirm (fixed locally, I need to push it). For the Cyprus, I don't get it. When did you create something? Can you give me the problematic item? Psemdel (talk) 20:18, 7 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Your welcome, I made the Cyprus 2024 the 10 January 2024- time: 08:20 and this is the site Q124245916. I also see that it happend in 15 January 2023 when somone made the 2023 one also Q116210145. The one from 2024 have i done changes to, the one from 2023 is original from Cycling Int Bot. The only thing i've done with the 2023 one, is add it to the main page Q68400550 under has part(s). The8 (talk) 21:08, 7 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok, found the missing part. I also replaced Cypriot to Cyprus. I will push on prod as soons as possible. Psemdel (talk) 21:23, 7 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
