The goal of the International Museum Day Wikidata Competition is to improve data about museums in the participating countries and regions. This includes editing new or existing items about:

• Museums
• People working at museums
• Objects and events located at museums

How to enroll

This person participated in the International Museum Day 2022 Wikidata Competition.

For each of the categories (about countries or regions) there is a Dashboard where you have to enroll with your Wikimedia user account. In case you want to participate in more than one category, you have to enroll in the other Dashboards as well. Once you are enrolled, your edits to Wikidata items about museums in the chosen country or region during the competition are tracked in the Dashboard automatically.

You can participate in every category from all over the world. For each category the three contributors with the most ‘’characters added’’ are the winners.There isn’t any overall winner, prizes will be awarded separately for every category.

Rules

• The competition takes place from Wednesday, 4 May 2022, 00:00 UTC until Wednesday, 18 May 2022, 23:59 UTC
• In order to participate, you have to join at least one Dashboard.
• You can participate in one or more than one Dashboards respectively countries or regions (see list below).
• You can enroll at any time during the competition.
• The objective of the competition is to accumulate the most points.
• You earn points by editing Wikidata items related to museums in the countries and regions participating.
• Only data collected in the Dashboards are taken into account when calculating the score.
• Bots are excluded from participation but you can use other editing tools.
• The score is calculated, and the results announced, about two weeks after the competition.
• You have to make sure you allow other users to email you in your preferences so that we can reach you if you win a prize. Please collect your prize until the end of June 2022.

Scoring

• The score is calculated based on the Characters added metrics in the Dashboard(s).
• 1 added character = 1 point
• Since recent edits can take some time to appear in the Dashboards, the score is calculated about two weeks after the end of the competition.
