- Motivation
A group of archaeologists have carried out a comprehensive survey of hillfort (Q744099) sites in the British Isles, in a project run jointly by University of Oxford (Q34433) and University of Edinburgh (Q160302). Some of these sites are already listed in heritage databases which are country-specific, e.g. Cadw Monument ID (P3007) and Historic Environment Scotland ID (P709). This, recently launched, is the first comprehensive database and mapping tool covering all sites. The project is sharing names, locations, identifiers and types for each site with Wikidata.
