Motivation edit
This is the website of a well-known Italian auction house established in 1988 with branches in Brescia (owning the Palazzo Cigola Fenaroli (Q96095753)), Rome, Turin, and Ospitaletto. According to their website, they have conducted more than 400 auctions in just the last 10 years. For each artist whose work has been sold, there is a page containing a detailed biography, a list of any available works (past or present), and their relevant details/photos. There are already several thousand biographies available (and some inbound links/quotes in it.wiki and fr.wiki). The website is pretty much useful also for adding reliable references for lesser known artists, since they provide biographies written by the auction house's experts and good photos which can sometimes be uploded on Commons (mainly with PD-italy, PD-old-100-1923, or PD-art tags).
Note: the site also uses URLs which provide a basic English translation with the same pattern (eg: https://www.capitoliumart.it/en/artista/de-chirico-giorgio-1888-1978/xar-2117 ) with "EN" instead of "IT" in the middle of it. I guess the basic URLs could/would be more stable over the years, but maybe the English version would be more usable?... Unfortunately using URLs with that "xar" code only doesn't work, otherwise they were definitely cleaner. --Teatroge (talk) 11:21, 22 July 2023 (UTC)
