Description	Cinema Context is a database of cinema-related metadata in the Netherlands, mostly before the 1960s. Virtually every cinema that existed in the Netherlands before the 1960s is in this database, including the movies shown there, the people running those cinemas and the companies distributing film. The database and site are part of the department of Media Studies at University of Amsterdam (Q214341).

Motivation edit

I've been working with the Cinema Context website for a couple of years now and it's a really interesting historical resource of cinema in the Netherlands. For a while, a complete SQL dump of the site is also available. The majority of all movies on this site have links to the IMDB, so it will be pretty easy to make a mapping of IMDB id's and Cinema Context id's. Husky (talk) 15:27, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Support The Cinema Context database is a rich and detailed source. Cinema Context data can be queried at this sparql endpoint and the rdfdata wil be published soon.
