Motivation

edit

Connect items in Wikidata with tags (Schlagwörter) in FragDenStaat (Q63413894). FragDenStaat public body ID (Property:P6744) identifies the organization (who?) that is asked, the proposed property "tag in FragDenStaat.de" would identify part of the topic (what?).

Links:

User:Kristbaum you proposed P6744, User:Nw520 you proposed a change to that property - thanks to each of you for that and the related work. Do you know if there is a list of Schlagwörter available at the site? If not, do you have contact to FDS and ask them for URL that has the list and to add that to https://fragdenstaat.de/hilfe/funktionen-der-plattform/schlagwoerter/?

Note: I copied the source from Wikidata:Property proposal/FragDenStaat public body ID and adjusted it as good as I could. I am not sure about "allowed values = [0-9A-Za-z_]+(\-[0-9A-Za-z_]+)*" and "topic = Generic".

Properties for tags in other databases:

Support Seems reasonable and possibly useful. Prototyperspective (talk) 11:52, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Comment Note that these tags don't seem to be curated like Stack Exchange tag (P1482). For example, tags abi, abitur, and abiturklausuren are about the same concept Abitur (Q708387), and many FragDenStaat Anfragen are not tagged at all. If you are looking for a list of Anfragen about a certain topic, you might get better results by putting the topic's German label into the FragDenStaat search box instead of using their tags. This problem also exists for another site: I think the right approach to this problem would be to request the site to merge their synonymous tags just like StackExchange does. Maybe there are other ideas, but I think somebody should request that they create tag-synonyms (and maybe also "broad" and "sub"-tags). Prototyperspective (talk) 08:40, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Dexxor Thanks for the comment. Some remarks:
  1. Stack Exchange tag and OpenStreetMap tag exist to have a connection in Wikidata and to link things between different databases.
  2. curation: abi and abitur should probably be merged or handled as synonyms like @Prototyperspective wrote. But Abiturklausur is a subtopic of Abiturprüfung which is a subtopic of Abitur. As long as they don't merge or link different tags for the same real word thing multiple tags on one Wikidata item can be used.
  3. using the search box doesn't work well, especially for compounds, but even fails badly on single words. https://fragdenstaat.de/anfragen/?page=398&q=Bundesverband finds Bundesregierung, Bundeskasse, Bundesbank, Bundeskanzlerinnenrundgang, Bundesanstalt, Bundesministerium. One can use quotation marks, around single words or compounds, but, here is a minimized example for spacing issues: https://fragdenstaat.de/anfragen/?q=%22e.V.%22 = 3648 and https://fragdenstaat.de/anfragen/?q=%22e.+V.%22 = 582 .
  4. the texts cannot be altered after mailing, a typo will stay forever, preventing findability via search, but the tags can. Yes, many Anfragen have no tag/Schlagwort, but those that have are better found.
Ideally they would use some standard identifiers (WD QIDs for a starter) instead of self-made tags, but that is not how things are currently done. Maybe one day they will learn from others that have more experience with knowledge management, but that is their free choice. Their issues are theirs, Wikidata should handle the available data in third party sources as best as it can. FrankDieterSchulmann (talk) 10:05, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Dexxor:, would you like to give your opinion? Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 12:11, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am leaning towards   Weak oppose until FragDenStaat better curates (removing duplicates, adding descriptions) and promotes their tags like Stack Exchange does. Dexxor (talk) 17:35, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Question I am concerned about the stability of the IDs. Does it make sense to add them if there are redundancies like "abi" and "abitur? In my opinion, this points to a lack of curation on Fragdenstaat's end. User:FrankDieterSchulmann Are you in contact with the curators of the website? @FrankDieterSchulmann:, could you please answer the questions. Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 12:11, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
