Motivation

The Swedish Performing Arts Agency (Musikverket) maintains an authority database of about 1500 posts covering people in Swedish music and performing arts history, some of which don't have Wikipedia/Wikidata presence. The posts can be accessed online, and are linked to other datasets maintained by the institution, such as archival images. As part of a cooperation project between Musikverket and Wikimedia Sverige, we want to import the authority database in order to make it easier to describe the collections of archival images that are going to be uploaded to Commons.
