Motivación
editIndirectly related to a discussion about categorization of articles about the "three" Chinas (Republic of China, People's republic of China and Chinese Taipei), I propose to add this property, in order to establish the olympic comitee behind teams. Using the IOC country code (P984) is not enough to establish it properly, because CHN was used by the ROC until the PRC started using that, then, the ROC used TAI (for taiwan), then ROC (for Republic of China) and finally TAI (for Chinese Taipei). --Amitie 10g (talk) 23:32, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
Discussion
edit- I am positive about the property. But wouldn't it also go through the property applies to jurisdiction (P1001)? --Gymnicus (talk) 08:27, 17 September 2022 (UTC)
- applies to jurisdiction (P1001) seems to be suitable for toponomies rather than sports organizations/comitees. --Amitie 10g (talk) 17:37, 14 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Amitie 10g: Yes, that's right. I didn't look closely enough at the property, sorry. So like I said above, I'm positive about the property proposal. I would perhaps generalize it a bit to sports associations. That you can also use it for the data object Germany at the 2022 European Athletics Championships (Q114120935), for example. --Gymnicus (talk) 09:21, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
