Motivation

Obituaries Australia is a digital repository of obituaries published in newspapers, journals, magazines and bulletins. This site is hosted by the National Centre of Biography (Q105530734) at the Australian National University, which also produces the Australian Dictionary of Biography (Q672680) and other biographical sites such as People Australia (Q105530643), Women Australia, Indigenous Australia, and Labour Australia. While the ADB focuses on the lives of notable Australians, Obituaries Australia offers a sample of the Australian experience by reproducing, in a convenient online format, published obituaries relevant to the history of Australia.
