Motivation
The Orthodox Encyclopedia is a unique, essential and comprehensive Russian-language reference source in the field of Eastern Christianity. It covers subjects related not only to "pure" religion and theology, but also history, philosophy, music, biographies. The official website has been open since 2007 and currently contains relatively many entries from the printed version of the Encyclopedia (which is not finished yet; 47 printed volumes have been issued to the moment).
