Discussion edit

  •   Support, an important property for gypsies.--Arbnos (talk) 18:16, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  •   Oppose creating multiple properties, use one with per-language formatters. And what about the "id" values? They look like random url parts... Is the collection part needed as it seems constant in examples? The site seems to have "real" ids (like fil_00279). Are they available through another formatter? Would they be more stable than this proposal? --Nono314 (talk) 11:37, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  •   Oppose I suggest to handle this similar to other multi-lingual lexica like HDS ID (P902) where multiple formatter URL (P1630) are used for each language. --Hannes Röst (talk) 12:42, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In fact @Hannes Röst:, P902 does not use multiple P1630s and therefore cannot lead to multiple pages. If you click on an ID link from HLS-property, you will see that you will always arrive on a German page. —Eihel (talk) 01:46, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In fact 902 does use multiple P1630s as you can see when you click on this. The multi-language support is simply not implemented yet. However, the point of Properties is to store stable identifiers, *not* to store URL schemes that may change. The correct approach is to store the stable identifier and press for implementation of multi-language support of P1630. --Hannes Röst (talk) 16:01, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
