see usage GZWDer (talk) 17:11, 12 February 2017 (UTC)
- Discussion
- Looks to me like the ID in the example should be
C202
, with the formatter URL adjusted accordingly. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 17:12, 13 February 2017 (UTC)- @Pigsonthewing: However the Wikipedia template use the ID without prefix, with formatter url http://www.songwritershalloffame.org/exhibit_home_page.asp?exhibitId=$1 which currently automatically redirected to the URL above.--GZWDer (talk) 11:22, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
- It's worth investigating whether the website has ID's that don't start with a C. Oppose till it's clear whether that's the case. ChristianKl (talk) 18:30, 15 February 2017 (UTC)
- Comment http://songwritershalloffame.org/exhibits/alphabetically is the full list and I do not see an ID that doesn't start with a C. --ネイ (talk) 17:04, 17 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Pigsonthewing: Given what ネイ wrote, are you okay with the ID not including the C? ChristianKl (talk) 08:47, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
- No. All the URLS on that page are the same:
https://www.songhall.org/exhibits/C{primary_category_id}
, which is clearly invalid, and indeed returns an error message. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 19:25, 28 May 2017 (UTC)

- I edited the property to use the ID starting with C. @Pigsonthewing: Do you support it in this form? ChristianKl (✉) 18:54, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
- @GZWDer, Pigsonthewing, ChristianKl, ネイ, ديفيد عادل وهبة خليل 2: So I should have checked the formatter URL before creating the property - it looks like after all the above discussion, the website has completely changed their ID system. The above link goes to a garbled page definitely not about Samuel A. Ward. There is a page for Samuel A. Ward now at
https://www.songhall.org/profile/Samuel_A_Ward
. I modified the allowed values and formatter and example on the created property so they work now with that style of page. However, the stated plans for use may not work as the ID's have all changed. It's only a few hundred people though so I guess somebody can sort them out by hand... Anyway, property is Done.
