We already have a few specific properties for adjacency, but instead of creating a new property for every different type of item that adjacency applies to, this would be a general property for all types for which there is not already a more specific one in existence (see the three related, specific properties linked above). Exact context of adjacency would depend on the exact type of item it is applied to, so no need for elaborate constraints on this property. It would become the parent property for the three properties already extant. Josh Baumgartner (talk) 10:32, 19 November 2020 (UTC)

  •   Comment I think we already had similar proposals, e.g. Wikidata:Property proposal/monument in the near. --- Jura 12:42, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
    • Thanks for bringing that one up. Adjacency cannot be calculated by coordinates and indicates a particular relationship between two entities, so while I understand the discussion there, it is not particularly relevant to this one. Josh Baumgartner (talk) 12:25, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
Mona Lisa (Q12418) being otherwise located in a relative adjacent location of Jupiter Hurling Thunderbolts at the Vices (Q18573249) ?
  • If items have a physical contact point connects with (P2789) is our property that specifies that relationship. ChristianKl❫ 18:20, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
    • Thanks for pointing that one out, it would probably do nicely for example 1. Not so sure it would work for 2, 3 & 4. Josh Baumgartner (talk) 12:25, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
      • Can you explain why you think this example works better for those examples (I'm not familiar with those examples)? What's the shared point in contact? ChristianKl❫ 20:44, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
