Motivation
This is the reciprocal property to Vietnamese character reading pattern, for linking a quốc ngữ sense to a Hán lexeme according to a Nôm reading of the Hán character. – Minh Nguyễn 💬 06:07, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

Comment @C933103: mentioned at phab:T180345 that this could in theory be handled by monolingual text value "vi-hani". --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 22:58, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
- Support This property will be useful for linking quốc ngữ items to its corresponding Hán lexeme. KevinUp (talk) 13:19, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- Vi-hani monolingual value can be used to label chu nom name for all wikidata entry, however this property proposal would be specifically for connecting each chu quoc ngu sense to their origin han lexeme, which each lexeme would value would have additional properties attached, so I don't think monolingual value would be enough to do the job in this case. - Could you do the samples with Wikidata Lexemes-entities? --- Jura 16:41, 25 September 2018 (UTC)

- I just realized Han character in this lexeme (P5425) can be used in place of the proposed property. However, for Vietnamese script some people might want to distinguish between chữ Hán (Q1378119) (characters used for literary Chinese) and chữ Nôm (Q875344) (demotic characters used for vernacular writings). There's also another term, Hán Nôm (Nôm character (Q15100640)/Chinese characters used in Vietnam) which can mean either chữ Hán (Q1378119) or chữ Nôm (Q875344), but it's best to separate the two to make things clearer. - Not done @Mxn: I am closing this as a stale request, given that it seems that Han character in this lexeme (P5425) could be used instead. Feel free to reopen if that is not the case. − Pintoch (talk) 20:53, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Pintoch: Sorry, I missed the earlier notification about this discussion. As I understand it, Han character in this lexeme (P5425) is distinct: Han characters cannot be "in" a Latin-alphabet lexeme, which is what this property was proposed for. (There are already templates in wide use at the Vietnamese Wiktionary that correspond to the property being proposed here.) I'm not sure I understand KevinUp's suggestion, though; perhaps an example of that would help. – Minh Nguyễn 💬 00:17, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
