Motivation
Most datasheets only give poor / fair / good. From a purely scientifical point of view I always find this citeria a bit weak. However this is incredibly usefull as a first criteria to choose the gloves you will use to manipulate a chemical, to choose a lubricant for a material, to know if you can use this material in such environnement... --Thibdx (talk) 07:58, 10 August 2018 (UTC)

- @Thibdx, Wostr: I propose to stop this proposal to define a new one: first we shouldn't create a property for the material item but one for the chemicals in order to avoid to have 4-8 items with hundreds of statements. Better have for each chemical 4-8 statements regarding the material to use for handling purpose
- Then instead of using poorly defined criteria for chemical resistance, better use a standard like ASTM F 739-96 or EN374 to describe chemical resistance. Snipre (talk) 15:04, 15 February 2019 (UTC)
- The main problem is to have some data available. The poor/fair/good is widely available in materials datasheets even if it is not very "scientific". If we want a more scientific description we have to ensure that the data is available for a significant number of materials because we will not perform the tests ourselves.
