Planned use | Recording funeral dates from obituaries, etc |
Motivation edit
Currently there's no clear way to link from a person to their funeral, and there's no way at all to record their funeral date if it doesn't have its own item. This property would allow those funeral items to be linked. For the majority of people whose funeral does not have its own item, this property could be set to some value, and the date and place be specified using point in time (P585) and location (P276). Funeral dates and locations are very often included in obituaries and can be of some interest. IagoQnsi (talk) 12:39, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
Discussion edit
- Oppose. You can use significant event (P793): funeral (Q201676) with qualifiers (statement is subject of (P805), point in time (P585), location (P276), etc.). Ayack (talk) 14:52, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose. Better, you can simply do Diana, Princess of Wales (Q9685)significant event (P793)funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales (Q2918374). --Tinker Bell ★ ♥ 19:40, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose per Tinker Bell - this is exactly what significant event (P793) is for! ArthurPSmith (talk) 13:11, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
