  •   Oppose This looks like something which should be calculated from data about individual events. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 12:34, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    •   Question Excuse me for the noobish question, but how can you acomplish that? I think that pole positions, ammout of winnings and other "numeric progress" are important data for racing drivers, that's why im proposing. If there's a way to calculate this data from inside wikidata, then i understand your position. Thanks! --Lahi (talk) 13:48, 28 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
      • @Lahi: If I am understanding Pigsonthewing correctly, they believe it should be possible to calculate the number of pole positions for, e.g. Michael Schumacher (Q9671) by counting the instances of items about F1 races where qualifying position 1 has the value Michael Schumacher (Q9671). This would require every qualifying position to be stored on the item about the race (or a separate item for the qualifying for that race) - I do not know whether this is currently done, or whether it would be doable? An alternative way of modelling this would be to have a "pole position" property, for use on items about motor races, which took the item about the driver as it's value. For example, 1996 French Grand Prix (Q221567)pole positionMichael Schumacher (Q9671). You would then be able to calculate the number of pole positions a driver had from this. However this comes with two caveats - (1) I do not know whether infoboxes can do this sort of calculations; and (2) the count will be wrong until the information about pole position has been added to every grand prix (and Indy 500, etc, etc). For this latter reason, I'm leaning support as a temporary property until data is complete. Thryduulf (talk) 21:08, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
