Motivation edit
We already have the season starts (P4794) property for indicating when a sports season is. For many leagues, just having the start was good enough because the season lasts most of the year. However, many leagues (particularly in the U.S.) only last for a small portion of the year, so just having the start month is really not good enough for describing when the season is.
