My Watchlist

Hi,

It seems that my watchlist has grown too big. If I try to get the watchlist to edit it raw it fails with the error:

@Kpjas: Thanks for letting us know about this issue. I've created a ticket so we can look for a permanent solution. In the meantime, there's a tool called "tool-unwatch" by User:Lucas Werkmeister that can remove a bunch of watchlist entries. It's not fully documented, but if you leave a note on their talk page, they may be able to help you out in their volunteer capacity. -Mohammed Sadat (WMDE) (talk) 16:43, 17 November 2022 (UTC)

Datatype change for P11136

Can somebody with technical permissions change the datatype of this new property, shortened URL formatter (P11136), to string? It was created as an external identifier when it shouldn't be. -wd-Ryan (Talk/Edits) 13:53, 28 October 2022 (UTC)

I could not see any special pages or permissions that suggest a property type can be changed in situ. I did see the Wikidata:Properties for deletion page say it was appropriate for this however. Infrastruktur (talk) 08:04, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
@Wd-Ryan: We can make this change, but with community consensus. Is there a discussion anywhere that warrants this change request? Mohammed Sadat (WMDE) (talk) 15:57, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
@Mohammed Sadat (WMDE): The original property discussion was listed as a string with much support: Wikidata:Property_proposal/shortened_URL_formatter -wd-Ryan (Talk/Edits) 16:43, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
In the interest of saving time, it also makes no sense for the property to be an external identifier, as clearly that is not the property's function, that was probably just the property creator being too quick. An external identifier generally indexes one website, whereas this property is intended to describe the format of an URI. I'm also in favor of this change. Infrastruktur (talk) 16:59, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarifying. We'll work on it. (phab:T323470) -Mohammed Sadat (WMDE) (talk) 09:05, 21 November 2022 (UTC)

SCAR Composite Gazetteer place ID (P3230) no longer searches for the place ID, but for the name ID, and so runs into errors (see the examples in the property description). Formerly, in fact, it searched for both and confused them. -- Olaf Studt (talk) 12:37, 8 November 2022 (UTC)

@Olaf Studt: This looks like something the community can resolve in the property itself. Please watch the talk page. -Mohammed Sadat (WMDE) (talk) 09:41, 17 November 2022 (UTC)

inhabitant number incorrect for 2016 for the village Conques in france

at this query: https://query.wikidata.org/embed.html#SELECT%20%3Fdate%20%3Finhabitants%20%7B%0A%20%20wd%3AQ317349%20p%3AP1082%20%3Fp%20.%0A%20%20%3Fp%20pq%3AP585%20%3Fdate%20%3B%0A%20%20%20%20%20ps%3AP1082%20%3Finhabitants%20.%0A%7D%0AORDER%20BY%20%3Fdate the number for 2016 is way out of context with the rest. can someone look at that? i dont know anything about how this wikidata works ;) (data is used at https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conques_(Frankrijk) ) 188.207.217.75 13:26, 21 November 2022 (UTC)

It's a data problem not a technical problem. Data was added by @Underlying lk: in this edit - https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q317349&type=revision&diff=934815109&oldid=932878451 - and I guess it stays until someone with domain knowledge does something about it. --Tagishsimon (talk) 13:44, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
