Discussion edit
Is this "Name ID" or "Place ID"? edit
SCAR Composite Gazetteer has two identifiers, "Name ID" and "Place ID", which one is this property for? SJK (talk) 13:33, 10 March 2017 (UTC)
- Place (see the proposal). Maybe this should be made explicit in the description.

Identifier format edit
The current identifier format says only numbers between 1 and 19999 should be valid but this does not seem to be the case for example Vidisen (Q97119148) has the SCAR place identifier 20017 and it seems to be valid. Does someone know the actual range? Abbe98 (talk) 17:21, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Abbe98: The current highest ID is 20254. I've updated the regex to allow up to 29999. - Nikki (talk) 19:48, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
SCAR Composite Gazetteer place ID (P3230) performs wrong search edit
Moving this report over from WD:RATP - Mohammed Sadat (WMDE) (talk) 09:41, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
SCAR Composite Gazetteer place ID (P3230) no longer searches for the place ID, but for the name ID, and so runs into errors (see the examples in the property description). Formerly, in fact, it searched for both and confused them. -- Olaf Studt (talk) 12:37, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Nikki, Canley, BrokenSegue, Eihel: When I saw the new alias "SCAR GAZ ID", I guessed that a name ID was merged into the item and should be unmerged – nevertheless, I would appreciate a SCAR Composite Gazetteer name ID along with the place ID, but not instead of it! -- Olaf Studt (talk) 22:25, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hello Olaf Studt
- The corrections have been made (formatter URL (P1630) has been modified). The changes will be available within 48 hours and the ID links will point back to the correct place.
- Several Aliases and Labels have been fixed. Nothing was merged.
- For a property like "SCAR Composite Gazetteer name ID", you always have the possibility of a new proposal in Wikidata:Property_proposal/Authority_control.
- I hope you find these corrections satisfactory. Cordially. ―Eihel (talk) 07:28, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
