Due to the recent restrictions the Islamic republic has made in Iran, all websites with SSL certificates can not be reachable. Users got a message: "Attackers might be trying to steal your information from wikidata.org". So I have to use open proxies to access the Wikidata, but I am not able to edit the contents. I am sysop in fa.wikipedia and tg.wikipedia so I am familiar with the policies. Darafsh Kaviyani (Talk) 22:13, 31 January 2023 (UTC)

I'm extended user form Finnish Wikipedia and I sometimes edit with VPN. I have over 500 edits on Wikidata and over 6 700 edits on fi-wiki where I am also Editor, Rollbacker and IP Block Exempt. If I get this right here in Wikidata, it makes it easier to improve Wikidata such as linking new fi-wiki articles here. HenriHa (talk) 11:18, 11 April 2023 (UTC)

I run "production" version of my scripts on toolforge, but from time to time they need to be debugged. I do understand why global block is issued, but it makes my life more complicated than it should be. I am mostly doing automated edits here and in ru-wiki (where I am sysop and therefore immune) so local IPBE here suits me well. Last year I requested one for 6 months and it looks like I need another 6 months. Could you please grant it to me? Ghuron (talk) 19:44, 19 May 2023 (UTC)

Hello,
I've media files on a remote computer hosted at Shadow SAS, a provided specialized in VM with decent GPU, useful for gaming or, more relevant here, for photo or video editing purpose. This is currently my main workstation for multimedia purpose. It's also currently my only non-server non-work computer.
As such, I've requested an IP exemption flag on Wikimedia Commons to upload media, which has been accepted. For one of those media, to add a link to a new Commons category to a Wikidata element, but then stumbled upon the same block: 85.190.64.0/19 is currently globally blocked under by meta:User:Jon Kolbert with the rationale Open proxy/Webhost.
The block doesn't let the opportunity to add a message on their own talk page, so I'm opening here a section from my work computer. I'm not on another hand not willing to contribute from my work computer.
As such, I'd kindly like to request local IP exempt on Wikidata too.
Note: a local IP exempt has the technical capacity to override a global block, so the local IP exempt is here enough, especially as I don't currently expect the need to extend this request to other sites than Commons and Wikidata.
