Manors sub-project. Part of Wikidata:WikiProject Early Modern England and Wales.
Scope
editManors, as listed in the Manorial Documents Register (Q105770461) (MDR) -- i.e. entities generating manorial records, because there was a manorial court.
All items in scope should be UK places with instance of (P31) = manor estate (Q2116450), and a UK National Archives ID (P3029) value with qualifier subject has role (P2868) = manor estate (Q2116450).
Items in the UK without a UK National Archives ID (P3029) identifier, or not on the Manorial Documents Register should not have instance of (P31) = manor estate (Q2116450).
Status

1 item now created for every manor on the National Archives' list, that is distinct from any item for any settlement or building
- See /Properties page for properties coverage.
Immediate goals
edit- Try to improve P131 coverage and location (P276) coverage. Currently 2,200 manors do not have their TNA location matched to a P131 statement.
- Investigate borderline location (P276) matches
- Try to align/match VCH and IPM entries to TNA manors. Investigate 3-way alignment.
- Consider to try to link manor buildings etc (and later entities) to the TNA manor estates via suitable properties.
- Develop an exemplar item, for a manor with a rich online information at TNA, to understand how it can be modelled in wikidata.
- I've attempted to start this off using Hawkshead Manor - --Mr impossible (talk) 16:00, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
