Well done
editNice project! I'm not sure if I'll stick around, but my interest is piqued. Some unrelated comments follow. I noticed you used official website (P856) to link to https://bathingwaters.eu/BREDENE%20-%20TURKEYEN on Turkeyen (Q107166763) and others. I think it might be better to use described at URL (P973) for that purpose?
I was poking around on http://dd.eionet.europa.eu/vocabulary/wise/WFDProtectedArea. Due to some coincidence that happened to be the day the dataset got updated? I replaced 4 identifiers that seemed to have been superseded. How/where did you originally find those IDs? If I knew where to find them I might add some more. --Azertus (talk) 21:46, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
- Notified participants of WikiProject European Bathing Waters@Azertus: see my answers below the background is that I started to look into Open data in Sweden and started feel that we started to create data silos. After digging into bathing waters I found out that in Sweden we have Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management (Q10518645) and they gather Swedish bathing waters and report to European Environment Agency (Q632988) and they have > 27 000 bathing waters. I emailed them see Email -->
- I requested Eionet bathing Water ID (P9616) to be created (see discussion) same as European Environment Agency (Q632988) dataelement dd.eionet.europa.eu/dataelements/99263
- The challenge to upload to Wikidata is that the data at European Environment Agency (Q632988) is CC-BY so we need to ask every country about if they have data CC-0 see chapter eea.europa.eu StateOfBathingWaters License problem
- In Sweden we have > 7 000 waters lakes in Wikidata with euSurfaceWaterBodyCode see map --> we can also connect bathing waters to water using located in or next to body of water (P206) and we also have pictures...
- I also started to test SDC and added DigitaltMuseum ID (P7847) to some old pictures from museum which was another cool possibility see SPARQL federation...
- To summarize: The data in EEA is well structured, bathing water interest people and you also monitor them regarding quality to warn people --> its a good candidate for Linked data and maybe an easy show case how cool a tool like Wikidata is for doing things like this and connect all data and also present it in more languages
- another nice result of this is how easy we now can navigate between dd.eionet.europa.eu and WIkidata see video using Wikidata:Entity_Explosion

edit- official website (P856) yes its not the best usage but I hope we get better links and as you say https://bathingwaters.eu will move "away" .... in Sweden I try to use the official web site
- The IDs are from EEA and are available on the map StateOfBathingWaters and in the zip files. Problem is as this email state that EEA has a non compatible license with Wikidata so we musty ask every goverment delivering data to EEA about if the data they have is CC-0 - the good thing in this equation is that my understanding is that EEA support this and have sent out this email ""
