Should items for people and places connect to maps they are mentioned on ?

Should items for people and places connect to maps they are mentioned on ?

For places, we now have the proposed property Wikidata:Property proposal/named place on map (which would sit on the SDC of the file for a map; possibly also some of its items(?) Is that enough?

For people, there has never really been a property for "mentioned in", short of described by source (P1343) -- the latter feels a bit strong for the relation here. present in work (P1441) exists, but should that be restricted to fictional & fictionalised people?

Would the answer be another new property of the map side, this time for people rather than places? Is this a question that generally needs thinking about for works as a whole, eg Leland? Jheald (talk) 15:32, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
