taxonomic type (P427)

Per MargaretRDonald's comment on Property talk:P427: Can taxonomic type (P427) be used to represent type specimen for species? The label, description, and alias of taxonomic type (P427) does not indicate that it can, but it seems like a reasonable use for the property. — The Erinaceous One 🦔 06:54, 6 January 2023 (UTC)

Actually, it looks like one of the examples Acanthocalycium ferrariitaxonomic typeRausch 572 is a type specimen. — The Erinaceous One 🦔 07:34, 6 January 2023 (UTC)

What to do when a genus/tribe/subfamily moves?

What's the best way to model things when a genus is transferred to a different tribe, or tribe to a different subfamily, or subfamily to a different family? That is, when the parent taxon (P171) is changed. Should a second parent taxon statement be added to the existing item, or should a new item be created with the new parent taxon? Thanks. Add a new parent taxon (P171) with a reference. --Succu (talk) 21:08, 7 January 2023 (UTC)
