How to model an open-end opening time? edit

How to model an open-end opening time? The OpenStreetMap syntax expresses this with a plus sign "+", cf. osmwiki:Key:opening hours/specification#Syntax diagram. Thanks for any ideas! Best, --Marsupium (talk) 15:13, 24 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Can you give a concrete example of what you mean? NMaia (talk) 08:40, 25 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the question! For example the coffeehouse Cafe Extrablatt Münster Aegidiimarkt (Q116379427) for that I wanted to enter the opening hours opens at 9 am and closes "open end"[1]. In OpenStreetMap syntax this can be expressed as "Mo-Sa 09:00+; Su,PH 09:30+". For now I've left out the closing time (P8627) qualifier which yields a constraint violation. I hope the example helps! --Marsupium (talk) 09:48, 25 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Does that mean the coffee shop has no fixed closing time? If so, maybe you can use no value with the closing time property. NMaia (talk) 13:55, 27 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yes, no fixed closing time. Thanks! Good idea! I've done that. --Marsupium (talk) 14:02, 27 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
I thought about a little more, and I think maybe unknown value would work better. No value might be interpreted as it literally not ever closing (obviously not by humans, but maybe by renderers). What do you think? NMaia (talk) 00:11, 28 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hm, good point! On the other hand, I was interpreting no value as "no fixed closing time exists" and unknown value could also mean that something has/had a fixed closing time, only it is/wasn't known for some reason. So this depends on the exact sense of "closing time" and "some value" and "no value" and I'm not sure how it's handled in other cases. --Marsupium (talk) 11:52, 28 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
